Please remember that the usage of one standard chemical toilet is advised for a maximum of 7 operatives working a 40-hour week as recommended by the HSE so should you have a larger workforce using one portable toilet, you may need additional weekly toilet emptying or look to hire an extra loo or two from us.

An employer has a duty of care to their employees, and even more so when they are working outside or at night. In the construction industry, many rail and road maintenance projects happen overnight when they are at their least busy. Workers can find themselves outside in all weathers, working overnight in the dark, miles from any local services or amenities. This is where the use of an onsite Welfare van is indispensible.

Welfare van hire can provide a comfortable rest area, offering all-important heating, hand-washing, eating, hot water and toilet facilities. Facilities often found are hot and cold water, a water boiler for drinks, a microwave, wrist to elbow wash hand basin, toilet and shower facilities as well as racking, shelving and storage.

This means that when it’s rest-time (every 3 hours for night-time workers) the welfare van provides somewhere warm to go, which has all of the facilities they might need to re-charge their batteries. This puts a strain on these facilities after constant use and your welfare van will need to be serviced.
